I heard that all ranger edges came with 8.8s is that true?

You are. There is NO stock Ranger that has disc brakes.

The Edge's come with the 8.8 28 spline rear axle, usually with a limited slip in them.

The only Ranger that came stock with the 8.8 31 spline axle (drum brakes) was the '02 FX4 and the '03-'07 FX4 Level II's.

oh ok thanks, i remembered n3elz from the other forum got an axle from a ranger thats the only reason i was thinking that.
