Edge conversion on a 3rd gen?

Has anyone done this before? I have been considering the various upgrades I would like to do to my Ranger and this has always been on my mind, even though I do love the look of my truck and hate how the edge front end limits your view, I would like to see how it looks in contrast to the 1993-1997 body lines.

So if you have done the conversion, or have seen a location on the web (I've looked) where they show it please let me know. And post up pictures if you have them.

Any help is appreciated.

it would look like an edge with lower susp and 93-97 tails, not more.

Well, last night at work my brother decided to "hide" my truck behind his. He's got an 01 Edge so I can see what your saying. But his truck seems to have a beefier look about the cab.

maybe cuz its taller(trucks height), but its the same cab as yours.
im going for an edge bumper for mine, i got the valance, i need the bumper now, maybe next week i complete it

98+ cabs are 3 inches longer and the hood on an edge (power dome) looks alot more beefier then our flat 93-97 hoods i think it would look awesome but alot of work and money

Well, it wouldn't be that much. Providing that I can find a decent truck in the junk yard I'd only spend 30 per Fender, 40 for the hood, and another 40 for the misc front pieces. 40 for the rad support to make it all fit, and then 40 for the bumper and I'm all set. About 220 in all, and that's not including random sales that the yard has where select stuff is half price.

hmm thats really interesting, thanks casper! nice article, isaw a 01 the other day it had stock 98-03 hood, and 01-03 edge grille it looks awesome, maybe one day i do that to mine
so i must replace the header panel for this right?
to properly fit the headlights and grille?
since fenders are the same from 98+
i would need
headlights, grille, turn lights and header panel for mine

Not positive but think after 03 with the gill that goes higher up you need a new header but i think up to 03 is the same

oo really!!! wow thats even better, well actually i think its even the same, only thing different ive seen is the hood latch, its larger on 04+
but i guess the 01+ headlights arent a direct bolt on on the 98-00 front end are they?
actually it wont be the header, its like a fiberglass piece that goes on top of the header, were the headlights sit

Thanks Casper! Now I just have to figure out what my old RPS login was.. name is the same as here, but I can't remember the password. Too lazy to reset it.

Yep. And it's 01. You would need to change that anyway, to make the headlights and whatnot fit with any swap.

No, 01+ headlights most likely won't bolt right in to your front end.

i knew it!!! i just need to replace the fiber glass panel that holds the grille and lights wow lets see if i can do this sometime soon
