BIG Business today does what other then charge way too much for their products? For one thing they buy out other companies in order to GAIN a monoply. And what is the very first thing they do once they buy the other company or even merge with them? They START by laying off every employee they can in order to PROFIT even more. And while they are making MORE PROFIT, the employees that were laid off have to struggle to find another job somewhere don't they? The corporate tax breaks the big companies receive during the year far exceed what most of the total employees cost them they laid off.
Another thing BIG BUISNESs does is each year they "PROJECT" what they "think" they will make in profits. Example: We "predict" we will make $10,000,000.00. When the dust settles & the final tab is counted, they actually only made $2,000,000.00 in profits after everything is paid. They will scream & holler they LOST, $8,000,000.00. Now you tell me how in the hell do you loose something you never had to begin with? They never had the $8,000,000.00 so how did they loose it? But yet they will tell us they "HAVE TO RAISE" prices in order to "RECOUP" their loss.
I fully understand business practices as I owned my own electrical comtracting company for over 30 yrs & don't mind saying I made a FAIR & HONEST living at it. I believe you HAVE TO MAKE A PROFIT to stay in business but how much is enough? That all depends on how greedy you are, how many other companies you think you need to own, how BIG you feel the need to become & how little a conscience you have about your business ethics. And that my friends is what it all boils down to IMO. It's called CORPORATE GREED & WIN at any cost & make the consumers pay just as much as the market will bear & never look back. Buy every politicain you can, pay off every judge you can find in order to get what you want regardless if it is legal, moral or just plain crooked. It's called BUSINESS as USUAL & everyone be damned in the process.
In my way of thinking there is not a man alive walking the earth who is worth billions of dollars in salary PLUS who knows how many MORE billions in stock options, FREE health care, use of company planes & ships & unlimited expense accounts to run any company in the world.
And where is all that money coming from to start with? YOU & ME are paying it everytime we buy their products. We don't even pay the President of the United States anywhere near that amount of money & he runs the whole damned country & has way more BS to put up with then any CEO of any company today. He holds the lies of millions of people in his hands based on decisions he signs into law with the stroke of a pen. And many young men/women are & have died because of that too.
And why is it SPORTS FIGURES are paid so much money? It's NOT because they are so good. It's BECAUSE people PAY the high ticket prices to go out & watch them PLAY & get RICH in the process. It is a PROVEN FACT the American people will pay MORE MONEY to be ENTERTAINED in some way or the other then they will on most everything else. At least most of them will. And what are the BIG NAMED SPORT HEROS doing today? Many of them are going out & getting in trouble with the law, not paying their FAIR SHARE in taxes & who the hell knows what else. And people like you & me who have to work our butts off just to put food on the table, pay our mortgages, our car/truck payments, health premiums & send our kids to school are being played for fools like someone who plays the violin. And NOW we are being gouged like a stuck hog with high gas profits while EXXON & others are reaping huge profits & laughing all the way to the bank while wanting even MORE money from us. Think about it!!!!!!!!! Until it gets to the point we say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH it will never get any better no matter how much you bitch & complain about things.
Like I said earlier, I made a pretty good living running my own company & I invested my money as that is what I was told was the SMART thing to do. I "thought" I had it made until a certain BIG NAMED company announced it was finished. I won't tell you how much I LOST that I can never recover but the name of that BIG COMPANY is spelled ENRON. Need I say more?????? And it wasn't only me either. I, like so many other hard working people lost damned near everything I had worked & saved for. I was investing in what everyone believed was an HONEST & DECENT company. So don't ever give me the "song & dance story" about BIG BUSINESS being "unfairly" taxed. You'll have a better chance convincing a wild tiger not to eat your butt then you will convincing me about BIG BUSINESS & UNFAIR taxes they are paying. Say what you will about Bill Clinton when he was in office but I can tell you this for a fact. Everyone was working, making a decent dollar, spending money on things they needed & wanted & times were good in general for just about everyone. And I don't care how many BJs the man got or didn't get or who did them do him. THAT WAS HIS PERSONAL BUSINESS. NOT THE ENTIRE USA & THE MEDIAs business. Was Clintom PERFECT? Hell no he wasn't & neither is Bush. Bush has just been MORE OPEN about being DISHONEST & he doesn't care what anyone thinks or says becuase he firmly believes he is ABOVE the law & everyone else. Bush believes he can MAKE any law he wants to nake & then force COngress to go along with it because HE thinks he is right. WRONG!!!!!! That's my story & I'm sticking to it.

there is no such thing as a company that pays TAXES!period!their tax burden is built into the price of their goods and services!they merely collect it from us and pass it along to the govt.
