Ecoboost crates motors

What would be nice is the new 2.3L Ecoboost out of the upcoming Mustang. Should be plenty powerful, return decent fuel economy (although not as good as a diesel), and would not overly heavy. Wonder what kind of bellhousing mounting holes it'll have...

Id rather that 3.5 all day. 365hp and great fuel economy. Hell yah

I'd probably rather have the 2.3, lighter and makes over 300hp. But both would be a wiring nightmare.

This is the great thing about the 3.5 is that its like the 5.0 coyote in that its plug and play ecm opereation.

i can see where the new 4 cyl will be a popular swap in the near future as the junkyards start to get a population of them.

Next engine my truck gets is a diesel.

The F150 3.5L Ecoboost engine, which is what Ford Racing is selling for around $9,000., is 28-1/2" wide across the turbos. It is a smaller package than a 4V 4.6L Mod motor, so it will fit in a Ranger. However, Ford Racing does not have a Controls Pak available yet.

You can either buy a wrecked 2011-2014 F150, or get all the parts you need from a big wrecking yard like LKQ, either way it will cost you around $6800 to get all the aparts you need, and you need a lot of them, but the 3.5L Ecoboost with it's 6R80 auto trans is a great powertrain, and should make a fast Ranger with great highway mileage.

Not yet but they are planning to release the paks sometime.

Not bad. Hate it when that happens
