So I think I fried my ECM on my truck, been working lots so I haven't had a chance recently to open it up and have a peek to see if it is indeed fried. If it is fried, is their anything specific to look for when getting a new ECM from the junkyard? My truck is 93 4.0 5spd. No EGR?

Thanks

Good info here in that ECM model(EEC-IV): http://www.auto-diagnostics.info/ford_eec_iv

You need to get an EEC-IV from a manual trans, 4.0l without EGR.
In a pinch there are way to "simulate" EGR and automatic so new ECM doesn't turn on the CEL.
1990-1994 Ranger 4.0l, are the only years that would work, in '95 Ford switched to EEC-V computers, or half way through '95

All EEC-IVs will have the same ford part number 12A650, then a Pre-number like F17F which denotes the Year and engine .......F17F is '90 Ranger with 3.0l, I think :), saw it at another site.
Then there will be a large Sticker on the ECM with capital Letters/numbers denoting the software in that ECM, this would be what you want to match or at least get close to, lol.
