My question is: Can I use an '89 2wd automatic 2.9 v6 Bronco ll ECM in a '87 4wd automatic 2.9 v6 Ranger? I am also putting the engine from the bronco into the ranger, if that helps. I am mainly wondering if this will affect my 4wd beacuse I have the electric push button 4wd.

Thank you for any help!

yes, your 4x4 will still work, it's a separate system. The 89 computer will also have the added benefit of allowing you to get rid of the egr system with no ill effects.

I am not sure but it might be wise to use the harness out of the bronco too when you do the swap the 89 dont have the knock sensor or egr and the fuel pumps for your 87 are a little different is there a difference between the two the bronco has one in tank pump and the ranger has the two pumps everything else looks pretty much the same except the oil and water temp sensors might be different for the guages
