i have a 94 4.0 5-speed the ecm is fried the last 3 letters on it are CLA ive been looking everywhere for one but cant find any CLA's are there any other ones that are compatible one ford dealer told me CMA i cant find anyone to confirm not even other ford dealers

Well answered my own question went to scrap yard and pulled one out of a 94 4.0 automatic with a xdu code bought for 10 bucks so figured id try it put her in and she purrs like a kitten and no cel

an auto computer in a manual truck will eventually throw a light, probably a code about a torque converter lockup or something. the engine will run fine but may get slightly worse mileage. next time youre looking, dont look at the million digit ford part number, look at the 3-4 digit alphanumeric code thats in big letters.
