I went to Advance Auto Parts today and bought a Spectre Cone filter not the ones that cost 27 dollars the cheaper one for 18 that doesnt have any chrome on it and no hose clamp Its red and doesnt have the hole on the end its the flat style anyway i went home a took the airfilter and airfilter housing off the fender removed the big clamp thingy and took out the spectre with a 3 inch diameter hole It just slides right on the stock inlet no clamps needed you have to fab up or redneck a way to hold the filter up so it doesnt rub but what the hell it was basically a 18 dollar cold air intake dont have to redo all the tubing because it basically already is a cold air intake You just have to disconnect the battery for a minute so it doesn't high idle and your ready to go! It doesnt really look amazing but who cares :headbang:

You just removed the factory cold air intake and replaced it with an aftermarket hot air intake that will make a cooool hissing sound that you can impress your friends with.

this has been discussed so many times.

from the factory, the intake goes up to the front of the rad support by the grill, which is cold air. with this filter, its just taking air from under the hood that is heated up by the engine. so you replaced your cold air intake with a hot air intake. congrats. at least it sounds "cool"

oh i realized that so im adding some ducting from underneath but the hole in the fender is still blowing air to the filter its a hot air intake when the trucks not moving -I think ill just drive around with no headlight lol jk

drive around with no headlight?

I was thinking no hood!:headbang:
