Early Mountain Dew bottle

So far all i've found is that the bottle was made in '65, a full 22 years before i was born. I think it's in better shape too.

The "traditional hillbilly style" makes me think of moonshine which would explain why "it'll tickle yore innards"
I believe Mountain Dew was actually a euphemism for moonshine "back in the day".

Yes, it was...funny, but I haven't had any of that stuff for a few years...surprised they still make it...it was interesting when it first came out...since I hate dark colas...well, don't hate them, just prefer drinks like Sprite...although I haven't drank much of that lately either...

Aspartame...not good for you from what I know...and they all have it...beer is better...

Just got a response from the founder of the mountain dew bottle club

Hi Dustin,

I apologize for my late reply. Your bottle was made in 1965 by Owens Illinois. It is considered rare and is valued at $300.00.
If you ever decide to sell it I may be able to find a buyer for you. I do not collect any longer, I just work on the history.
Again I'm sorry for the delay in my reply. I had filed your message and then couldn't find it. I guess sometimes you can be too organized.

Thanks...

Wayne

300 bucks! damn, i wish i could just "find" a bottle worth 300 dollars lol. when we cleaned out my great grandpas junk all we found was junk. i got a sweet machete though.

good find man!

there was a goldmine of old records too, some unopened still in original packaging. the problem was they were literally stacked from floor to ceiling, some stacks had fallen over, the garage had flooded on more than one occasion, etc... a lot of them were simply hauled off to the dump, others were sold in bulk, $5 for a milk crate, you get what you get, if you want something else, buy another crate! Lots of model trains and cars, lots of tools, and like you said, lots and lots and lots of burnins!

$300 bucks? Wow, I found one similar to it a while ago and just left it on the side of the road because nobody takes them back...now where was that thing...

I think i just got lucky. Apparently the names play a pretty big role in rarity abd tgus value. Also the phrase preceding the name, it seems other phrases like "drank by," "enjoyed by," "loved by," "sold by," etc... are far more valuable. Obviously condition is very important. I got lucky in the fact that this one looks like it was made and filled last week and drank this morning. The one found on the side of the road isn't as likely to be in that good of shape.

True...but you never know...I found a coin in my b-in-laws driveway that turned out to be an 1852 vintage...unfortunately, it had been pierced by someone or something and the value was greatly reduced...
