Does any one know if my ranger will run on E85??? its a 1998 with the 3.0 and its a stick, if it doesnt how would I convert it over so that it could??

If you have an emblem on the tailgate with a road and a leaf, like this one: (it probably won't say "FFV", it'll just have the leaf emblem.)

then you can use E85.

rangers werent supposed to get flex fuel until '99. as well as the tailgate symbol, you can check your 8th VIN digit..FFV is V.

to convert your truck to flex fuel...you sell it and buy a flex fuel truck. if you were to try to convert your truck, it would involve a complete fuel system swap (tank, lines, ethanol sensor, injectors, and associated gaskets and o-rings), MAF sensor, and computer.

i wouldnt get too hot and bothered about E85 if i were you. it sounds OK on paper, but in practice, most people dont break even by running e85 (E85 doesnt provide as good of fuel mileage as regular gasoline).

:iamwithstupid:

yeah, and I don't recommend usin' 10% etanol blend either, if they still sell that crap.

:threadjacked:

got like 16mpg's goin' across wyoming with a tank a' that

ok thanks guys, I live in a small town that just got a single pump, and I thought I would see if it was worth it. lol its not.
