went ahead and bought new in the box from chain auto store the hayden e-fan along with NON-adjustable t-stat. it's settings are 185 = on and 165 = off. my question is i have a oem rated t-stat (water)(195 degree). should i opt for the adjustable ?????? Thanks in advance:icon_welder:

3.0's seem to run a bit crisper and they ping less with a 180* T-stat, so if it were me I'd swap in a 180 stat with my new e-fan and see how I liked it.

Go with a 180 t-stat, and get a temp switch that will allow higher coolant temps. The 165 off is going to cause the t-stat to open and close, and could have negative affects on fuel economy.

Go with an adjustable, or a fixed one in the 200 on 185 off range.

The 165 OFF will make the e-fan run continuously, and it won't last long.

DO yourself, and your truck a big favor, and put the mechanical fan/clutch back on.
