E-fan

So.............ads.............

update us on the 3 year old thread....

what fan did you get...

I ciphered it up once & a 2200 cfm e-fan will cool a school bus!

for anyone reading... the 3.8L v6 (yes, 3.8, not 3.0) Taurus e-fan is the best junkyard fan to find.. moves LOTS of air. all the jeep guys love it.. the mustang racers love it.
probably moves the most air out of easily found junkyard fans.

How well does it fit in an RBV? anyone have any pics?

not yet... i have one and will be doing the swap later.
it fits very well on a jeep tj tho....... :icon_rofl::D

If theres any of those left, that body style has gone the way of dinosaur here in the rust belt.

I found a 2 speed fan out of a ford contour that fits great in between the plastic end tanks. It is also slim enough to clear the water pump pulley on my 2.3L.

Hands down the Lincoln mark VIII fan moves the most cfm, but ranger
4 bangers and v6s dont need the best fan out there to cool them down.

I am looking for one that will draw a lot of air, fit between the ranger tanks, low profile and keep my a/c good and cooled.

Due to its rave reviews I checked into the Taurus fan, it was pretty thick and didn't have a chance of doing what I wanted to do.

Something like 3 or 4" deep.

Fan sits on a pile in the garage.

Truck spends a lot of time sitting in the yard due to a weakening firewall and two axles that are reaching the end of their servicable life spans. The fan has taken a back seat to the more pressing mechanical matters as I have found the mechanical unit does in fact work and I still haven't figured out the mounting since the 3.7L Taurus fan that I have will not fit between the battery tray and the carbon canister quite right. It's a bit too wide.

Have my disc brake, flipped Expo axle in the garage with all the parts it needs to go in. Picking up a D35 with bolt on calipers and an 8.8 drummer for the B2 from 1badexplorer tomorrow at the Carlisle Ford show. Then I'm going to start looking for a 95-98 pedal bracket to mod into a reinforcement for my ailing firewall.

My truck work may be curtailed for a while as well since my tendonitis in my right arm (I am right handed to boot) has been severly aggrivated by our attempts to level our yard and I can barely use my right arm.

Well, it isn't all bad. A friend of mine is a recent convert to the Church of the RBV. He has a lifted 87 B2 with 33's and stock axles. I'll just get him to help me swap mine out so he has some experience when he needs to do his own.

I made a reinforcement plate/bracket for mine out of scrap I had laying around, and it is all on the inside.
