Dweano's Maximum Mileage Mission!

Thanks! Its a never ending project haha. I know mud tires aren't needed. But they sure help. We have lots of muddy back roads and I'm always the guy who gets called to pull people out. I don't mind helping people out tho. There has been MANY times when my mud tires have helped me and other people put tho.

Update: -Nathan- put my 4.56s in the back and its great! Much better. I'm pretty sure mileage is increasing. It was noticeable better on the return from the city. I haven't done a full tank test because I am still breaking in the gears then have to swap the oil out but I'm sure it will be better.

P.S. I have accounted for the inaccurate speedo/odometer readings in everything I have done. My gps tells me the correct stuf

Well I hate to tell you but you don't need big mud tires on a farm. My old 1 ton chevy is 2wd and has 235/85r16 street tires on it, and we've used it on our farm since 74. i know its a nice luxury, but it isn't needed.

Oh and I like your truck, it looks like what I want mine to look like.

My truck (04 black Ranger with those AWESOME toyo open country MT's.....) has pulled out my bosses dually so many times it's not funny "once while he was hooked to a 30ft bean header", our 3/4 ton fuel and tools truck, and our stock ranger (the red one pulling hay in my avatar) We must just have a super muddy farm.

You don't need 33in mud tires on a farm............ but if it weren't for my truck we'd have spent a whole helluva lotta time driving tractors down the hwy to get to those stranded vehicles.

I love my open country MT's but my next set will have to be treadwrights, toyo's cost too dang much for a dd.

good luck on your mileage mission.

Frank

Haha yes...my truck has saved the tractor from being fired up a couple time...I've pulled out a dually once. Once me and my cousin pulled out a sprayer (coupe...but still haha) with a truck. Also! I'm with you Frank...love the toyos but next tires will be treadwrights. 315/75/16 hopefully

Update: First tank with 4.56's...15.3L/100km...like the same mileage I was getting with the 3.73's! What the heck!

Also back brakes are bad...add that to the list

Yeah...

But are you taking into account your Speedo changes??

Yup I am...I have a gps and verify the correct speed and stuff...with 4.56s and 33's when it says I'm going 100 I'm actually going 94 so I mutiply my kms by 0.94. With the 33's and 3.73's I multiplied by...1.15 I believe...no change  that is quite sad. I've heard from multiple people that is makes a difference for sure. Can a locker decrease mileage? With it turning both wheels all the time? You wouldn't think it would because its still getting all the power to the ground one way or another
