I want to get a exhaust for my truck, I have the newer DOHC Duratec 2.3, and think that the dynomax would be perfect, because it's not to loud, and for a 4 cyl, that is good. I've heard they are pretty modest and mellow toned, and with the rebate they have going on right now, I figure now is the time. I just cant find a dynomax catback in 2.25" that will fit 98+! they have options for the 2.5" but im not sure if I want to go that big. I was hoping to hear what people say about the 2.5 on the dura, or if there is a way to get the 2.25" from the 95-97 model to fit mine? If anyone has any information.. I would appreciate it.. not getting much attention from RPS :(

How much low end would I lose from a 2.5" exhaust?

is it a dual out or single out? it should be fine with the cats and muffler on there you shouldn't have a problem with back pressure if thats what you are wondering

Just a single out, id be putting the muffler it comes with and the cats are still on there

Im not sure if backpressure is what im worrying about or not, I just hear some people saying 2.5 is too much for a 4cyl, and others saying that it's ok .. just looking for clairity and a little help on decision

well, i'm not sure what size pipe you have on there now, prolly 2in.? so if it is, the 2.5 pipe will be fine for you.

well you can make the 2.25 fit but the hangers and such might not be in the same place. you will need to weld. i cant be positive the the 98-01 exhaust will bolt right up either though. so pretty much if you want it you will need to set it out and see where it differs but since the ranger hasn't changed much since 95 atleast it will be pretty close. thats the best answer i can give you. it is a PITA to find exhaust specifically for your engine man.

Well hey, thanks for all the info you've given, it's definitily a great place to start! Thank You! hoping for more to chime in too !

use the welded muffler. the st's are useless

its shocking they even make them things....its that distinct sound really and they are cheap as they sound..
