I got most of the Duraspark conversion done last night, I still need to get the vacuum advance hooked up and the the wire that retards the timing when it is cranking (will be real easy, it was just getting late) and to make a metering valve for the carb. The only snag is what exactly what does the vacuum advance go to? I have never heard of "Carb Plates" before, there is nothing above the choke plate on my carb if that is what they are refering to which I doubt, I am reusing the stock carb.

Hook up a vacuum line from the distributor to the carb above the carb plates to get ported vacuum not at the back of the carb or on the intake manifold vacuum tree. Plug the vacuum port on the front of the intake under the carb if you are not using the 2150.

So far I don't seem to have much more power, but it runs much smoother. It is still really rich however so I bet when I get the carb adjusted it will help in the power dept. Having the truck start and stay running smoothly on its own is worth it so far in my opinion, totally changed the truck's personality. It is a well worth mod for anyone considering it.

the answer to what I think your asking is;

the vacuum port above the butterfly platethat the throttle opens.
