i decided im gonna do the duraspark on my 85 2.8 iv read over the conversion right up on here a few times an come to a block. the red w/ light green wire on the gray connector yur supposed to reuse an wire in i cant find it which connector is it talking about the one that connects to the coil? i have two tans an a green on my coil connector. anyone give me a little more detail on which wires are needed to do the swap. thanks

I was unable to locate that color wire as well.Found the connector on the driver side fender well, grabbed the vom meter and checked until i located a wire that has 12 volts only when the key is on.Works like a charm.

oh really? ill have to see which one has power with the key then. im just wondering what connector was it? wat color wires an wat it go to? just trying to get it all figured out before i start in on it

I'll take a look in the am and post up.I suspect our wires may be different colors with the difference in years.

As i recall, only several connectors in the area of the coil, and there were probably 8 wires or so.

yea theres wires an plugs everywere, i found the 2 wire an 4 wire duraspark style plugs im just tryin to figure out this single wire gray conector w/ the red/light green wire

I studied that long and hard, never found the wire so i improvised.

I have one coil tan wire going to radio noise suppressor and spliced the other tan to a dark purple wire coming out of the connector.the connector on mine has some tan wires, red wires and the purple going to a wire loom that goes over the steering pump and to the other side of the compartment.

The purple wire corresponds to a red wire on the other side of the connector.Hope this helps.
