Do 98-99 4.0ohv Rangers/B4000 have Fuel pump Driver modules? I do not have one to look at and a google search turns up empty. Can someone confirm they dont exist? Tia.

No, they don't.

No, they don't.
Thanks sno ranger. Thats good news to me. I just need a pump for my swap then i believe. Do you happen to know from where fuel is returned to the tank? The sending unit has a return hose but im not sure where thats supposed to come from. The filler neck?

Fuel filter has the return line, 3 port filter

It's a single in and out. I have a 98 that had a 4.0.

Do happen to know where the return fuel line that enters the fuel pump comes from?
It runs to the vacuum purge solenoid on the drivers side fender well behind the battery.

The first few years of Returnless used older style filters, 2 port, 1998/99

And no return line

There were issues so Ford added return line to gas tank from fuel filter, and 3 port filters were used from then on
The return line connects to an FPR(regulator) in the fuel pump assembly

I guess i would have to know which fuelpump is the correct one to use with that setup.

I would say a 1998 fuel pump assembly :)

And I think it did have an FPR in the tank on the pumps OUT hose, which was an issue, and why Ford went back to Return line, albeit a short one

The silver round object just above the Pump is the FPR, and that close to the pump caused issues
Seen here, this is a 1998 assembly: https://storage.googleapis.com/apk18/ApkImages/af/AF_E2208S_Fro.jpg

Later models looked like this: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71HJ1g-I-LL._SL1500_.jpg

The FPR is on the Return hose, so next to the pump but a few feet away hose-wise with the 3 port filter

Thanks Ron. I suppose running a 98 pump would work. Though im finding theres just too many unknowns. Finding the correct 98-99 4.0ohv pcm is proving very difficult. So Ive been eyeballing my crusty 92 2.9 and considering swapping that in instead. Though that thing hasnt ran and been on the road since 2007.

You would need so changes for that, like MAP sensor added
