dumb noob ?-about brakes

do the rangers have a proportioning valve, i am use to working on my old dodges and they do. I took notice as i was working on it that it goes straight to the master cylinder. Just wonderin if someone rigged it up before me. thanks

it is a 94 4wd 5spd 3.0

I think most of us are sleeping on it. The only item I found was the RABS unit for the rear antilock.

Usually I'd say yes, there should be a valve. There should be something in line to trigger your brake light to come on with the loss of system pressure. Normally that's part of a combination valve which contains the proportioning valve. About the only thing to do that comes to mind is trace where the factory brake line would be run, and see if there's any left over mounting brackets or places where it would have been. Maybe check with car-part.com and see if they list it?

I guess I'm not the only member with a 1979 Macho.

If you have RABS, I don't think you need a proportioning valve. I've got a 2005 and I've got 4 WABS. When I changed from a 7.5 with drums to the 8.8 Explorer axel with disc brakes, I didn't need a proportioning valve as you would with a drum to disc conversion on nonABS. I may be wrong in your case but I'll try to see if I can find the info.
