dual shackles

i dont know if anyone has ever ran two sets of shackles. one on top of the other kind of like a teraflex shackle. if anyone has any ideas about this just let me know.
 
i actually just did a destruction test and it holds up good. and i got about 3.5 inches more of axle drop. but thanks for the reply
 
What kind of destruction test did you do?
.Did you drive the truck like this?

Correct me if im wrong but youre talking about hooking two sets of shackles bolted end to end and then to the leaf spring? I feel like such a setup would create some kind of problem. with excessive wheel hop/vibration/binding issues.

There. Fixed it for you.

The don't do anything good period. Sure you are getting extra droop, but the springs aren't forcing the tire into the ground creating traction, its just hanging there. Drive down a steep hill offroad and hit the brakes at the bottom, they will unload causing the truck to dive forward horribly. I definitely would not want to try and traverse a side hill with a set up like that either.
 
well i took it out and did some donuts on pavement and they didnt bend or break. i tried the going down hill and hitting the brakes real hard and it didnt seem to be anything out of the normal. i drove it down the highway last night with someone behind me and they said it didnt walk sideways or anything unusual. not any more axle wrap then before, i planned on making a traction bar anyways.
 
traction bar and flex? hmmm???
and yea im thinkin like the others that if ya do anything with the axle flexed out and mash on the skinny pedal something bad will happen but hey if your happy with it then more power to ya
 
Sounds dangerous. I'd suggest blocks, longer shackles, or add-a-leaf if you're looking for some lift.
 
Try searching for reviews on those Revolver shackles (Pirate4x4.com might be a good place to start lol). You'll probably then change your mind.

Granted, the unloading issue Sasquatch mentions happens most frequent on short-wheelbase vehicles, it's still can happen on anything (and when it does, over you go). And like said, the added flex is just "show" It doesn't add near as much to traction or stability as having a PROPER set of springs on it that would yield the same amount of flex (such as the 63" Chevy leafs).

X2.........precisely useless travel and scary when it unloads on a sidehill!
