Was wondering if anyone wired in a 2nd odometer after a rebuild to monitor mileage on the rebuild. I don't mean to change the original one showing the vehicle mileage, just want to add a 2nd one. Any Thoughts?

Edit : I Forgot to mention, this would be on a 92 Explorer

There aren't any wires going to the odometer. It's a gear-driven cable that spins the odometer. I can't think of any practical way of rigging it up to 2 odometers. Why don't you just write down the mileage at the time of rebuild and subtract it to find the mileage on the rebuild?

Example: Odometer read 130k when engine was rebuilt
Odometer now reads 168k.

168k-130k = 38k miles on rebuilt engine.

Seems waaay easier than trying to rig up 2 odometers.

Yea that was my thought to, i just figured i'd ask, was one of those 'i wonder if' moments when i was driving a uhaul truck the other day and seen the sticker about tampering with the odometer ( they have a 2nd mileage output device somewhere supposedly ). And i thought what the hell, might be interesting to do lol

Edit : What about using into the trip counter circuit with no reset button? Thought's on that?
