Any one running a dual set up? Did you like it? Anyone make a bolt on kit? Any more power?

I have been told that if you do a true dual it kills power. It makes sense because these motors aren't very big. I went with single exhaust with bigger pipe and a high flow muffler and I could more power right away. That is by no means meant to be taken as proof of power but the butt dyno felt the difference:)

had true duals on my donor truck really liked the sound and i haven't noticed any difference in power between dual and single. Right now i'm running single with a glasspack dumping out the side right behind the cab. Had raptors when i was running dual.

if you were to keep the same stock diameter pipe and run either a H or X pipe i dont see how that would hurt power might not improve it but would should sound pretty good and might be a bit on the expensive side. just go to a good shop one with a good rep and you will be just fine

i had dual exit pipes after the muffler, which is currently rusting to hell. so far i've lost one pipe to rust, and the other side is on its way out. when if completely craps out i'm goin back to a single swept design. either put the stock back on, or a new stainless steel system. as far as power gains i didn't notice any and doubt there was. i had a 40 series as part of the system which it only made it sound sound different than stock

speaking of the 40 seriers mufflers what do you mean it sounds a bit different than stock? i was just looking to just cut my stock one out and put in a 40 series

Some will tell you you are wasting money. The stock engine can flow only so much air, short of rocker mods, porting, etc or forced induction. The only two things you will get for certian: 1. lighter wallet & less Xmas cash to spend on others 2. more noise. It is possible that you can open the exhaust up to much and loose performance as well.

heres my thought on it dont go to big on exhaust tubeing size like said above me you will loose back pressure and it will pop when you let off the gas and sound horrible 2. do whatever you want to do its your truck just keep in mind the noise level of the truck to loud and you will get a ticket if you get to small of a exhaust pipe it will burn up valves. and remeber if you go cheap the pipe will rust and the welds will more than likely break go to a good shop with a good rep.
