i have a 6" lift on my truck right now with the drop pitman arm that came with the lift. i want upgrade to the 8" and that means a longer pitman arm. i was wondering is there any other pitman arm that would work with my ranger other than the 5.5 drop pitman arm( costs $200), like something from a f-150 or bronco?

Nope sorry as far as i know skyjacker is the only one that makes the "extreme drop" pitman arm. Arms for other trucks wont have the right splines even if they appear that they might work.

I would strongly suggest not going to an 8" lift. Too many issues with handling & alignment.
Use a 2" body lift instead if you need the extra lift (I'd still get the larger Skyjacker pitman arm even with your 6" lift too. The arm that comes with such lifts is already too short)

as far as i know, f150s broncos n such all have the same power steering pump which means the same splines. i still agree with junkie though. stick with 6" suspension. i'm at 6" right now and i'd hate to go to 8" unless its body lift. the $200 arm u speak of is the only one available for the 6" lift. the one that came with your lift should be too short as is.

With any taller lift the thing would roll over after a gopher fart. If you want bigger tires, start trimming. I've got a 6" suspension and 3" body lift. It's to tall. Look at the picture to the left.

ya i wish the sky jacker kit i got came with it but whatever. thanks for all the help and ya body lift sounds good i think ill look at a 2". kind of off subject but do you know who makes some faily cheap extended radius arms other than james duff and sky jacker. looking to spend like 400. thanks

4x4 junkie when you say you wouldnt run an 8" lift, do you mean the 8" drop brackets and coils or do you mean 8" coils and 6" drop brackets (cuz thats what im thinking of doing)????

I am seriously considering doing so but wont if it will be too much of a hassle.
However i see complecks has done it.

Anyway +1 on the extended arm ive got the regular drop pitman arm with a 4" lift and still notice the bump steer and such.

8" of actual lift (8" brackets).

8" SJ coils w/ 6" brackets on a Supercab truck ends up being more like 6.5" actual lift. With the FA600 pitman arm it should handle acceptably.

As for ext. radius arms, Tuff Country made a set that I think was priced under that of SJ and JD. Not sure if they still make them or not. The only other option I know of is to make your own out of the stock arms.
