drivleine woes

My story goes as follows. I had a squeak when I went in reverse and increased as I accelerated. I replaced my u joints, all 3 of them and also the center support/drive shaft bearing. Then the squeaking stopped but now when I hit 43 mph I hear a vibration, which sounds almost as if I have subs. The sound is hard to pinpoint as it seems to be causing the whole truck to shake at an ultra high frequency. I crawled back under the truck and recheck the u joints which seem fine. One observation I did notice was the driveshaft fork that comes out from the tranny (A4ld) has a bit of wobble. Should I suspect a bad bearing in there? If so what's my next course of action?


I did not hear this noise before I replaced the drive line, so I don't suspect a bent axle or lumpy tires

when you took the drive shaft off did you mark a line on either piece and line it back up, this happend to me too, trying to finish quickly i paid no attention to the matter and my truck would shake at hiigh way speeds, not like actually shake but the whole truck felt like it had a vibrator shoved up its a**. could possible be drive shaft?
 
I did, but I just eye balled and made two marks on the two separate drive shaft pieces so it could be off by one tooth, when I put it back together thanks I will investigate further.
 
I removed the drive-line, the shaft with splines on it that comes out the back of the transmission wobbles really bad at least 1/4 inch. Now what?


Edit: Is there a bearing in the extension housing that might be worn out?

i don't know if there is a bearing that supports the output shaft but you would definitely hear a whining or grinding noise,

you marked the 2 driveshafts in relation to each other, the real question is did you mark each flange to the drive shaft when you replaced the u-joints? the driveshaft is balanced with these flanges/yokes in a particular position.

when doing u-joints and not marking the flanges/yokes you have a 50% chance of getting it right for each u-joint you replaced.

if you didn't mark it you can take it back apart and try turning each flange 180 degrees to see if this fixes it.

or you can get your driveshaft balanced
