I just made a trip down to my local Boards to do some exhanges on some gifts I had gotten for Christmas (the ones I was given I owned already), and walked out with AC/DC's "Back in Black" and Billy Squier's Greatest Hits.

This question popped into my head: If you were about to go on a road trip and could only bring 5 albums, (two disk sets would count as one album) plus two "guilty pleasures" (music you'd be embaressed to tell other you love), 7 albums total, what would they be?

Here's my 5 + 2:

1. Best of Both Worlds (Van Halen)
2. Rancho Texicano (ZZ Top)
3. Anthologhy: The best of Joe Satrani (Joe Satriani)
4. Spirit of Radio (Rush)
5. Back in Black (AC/DC)

Guilty Pleasures:
1. Live at the Acropolois (Yanni)
2. Transformers: The Movie (1980's orgional) soundtrack

I'll go along with1,4 and five and add-
2.Thin Lizzy-Live and Dangerous
3.Foghat-Road Cases

Guilty pleasures-Lady Antibellum
Imus in the Morning

1. Lynyrd Skynyrd-All Time Greatest Hits
2. Jerry Reed-The Essential Jerry Reed
3. Travis Tritt-My Honkey Tonk History
4. Brantley Gilbert-A Modernday Prodigal Son
5. Ted Nugent-Spirit of the Wild

Guilty Pleasures
1.Asthon Shepherd-Sounds So Good
2. Surfs Up Soundtrack, lol

Mine would be

1. Wolfmother - (the original)

2. AC/DC - Back In Black

3. Wolfmother - Cosmic Egg

4. Eagles of Death Metal - Peace Love Death Metal

5. JET - Get Born

Guilty Pleasures

1. Master Exploder - Tenacious D (Jack black just kicks A$$)

2. Country Boy - Alan Jackson (only country song I like)

I could change these around alot and stuff on a road trip ut the again I would just cheat and bring my Ipod and plug it in. With my deck its like pluging in an external hard drive.

Although it would be impossible to choose just 5, I could listen to these every day forever:

1. Living Colour - Vivid
2. Living Colour - Stain
3. Justice System - Mobilization
4. Super 8 - Super 8
5. Lip Silent Assassin - Lip Silent Assassin

Guilty Pleasures (although I'm not embarrassed about anything in my 500+ CD collection)

1. The Essential Michael Jackson
2. Alicia Keys - Songs In A Minor

Ok, I'll ignore the facts that:
A) I NEVER play let along carry "Original" CD's in my vehicle
B) That I live in the digital age and carry several hundred albums
(on optical discs) in the form of mp3's

And play along...

1) AC/DC - "Back In Black"
2) Queensrÿche - "Empire"
3) Metallica - "Metallica"
4)EVANS|BLUE - The Pursuit Begins When This Portrayal of Life Ends
5) Rush - "Presto"

As far as "Guilty pleasures"? that falsely presumes that I give a damn about what someone thinks of my broad musical tastes.

I've got probably 150 CD's that I've never listened to, and likely never will
Ranging at one end to No Doubt, Wilson-Phillips and Avril Livigne and on the other end to some real headbanger/grindcore/industrial Shit! that is so unmemorable that I can only recall a couple, like Mushroomhead... Oops,
I'm drawing a blank again...

But ripping, compressing and tagging for others tends to create that
kind of collection.

But I'll throw in two more, not that I'd be ashamed of having
any music on my computer or CD player...

A)Marc Cohn - Marc Cohn
B)Daughtry - Daughtry

MArc Cohn is more blues piano than anything aelse and daughtry being a former idol contestant... well the only thing I can find wrong with him is... (In the words of a friend) "Anyone who doesn't have a Vagina or isn't in the process of trading their dick in on one should use the word "closure"."
(there's a subtle pun in there too)

Metallica anywhere from the beginning up to and including the black album.
I've been listening to a lot of Disturbed lately. The Ten Thousand Fists album is really good, as is their latest. Perfect Insanity is a perfect driving song.

Guilty pleasure - I have a weakness for chick rock...as in rock bands with female lead singers. Current chick rock band I've been listening to is Halestorm.

1. Joe Satriani
2. Steve Vai
3. Eric Johnson
4. Ratt
5. W.A.S.P.
6. Stevie Ray Vaughn!!!!!!!!

i love old country hate the new so called country and country is the only thing i listen to

actually if im on a long road trip, and if i have the choice, i'll be driving at night. therefore i'll be listeneing to a cassette tape ive made with sam kinison material on it, even listening to music i like (such as , ac/dc,eagles,jerry reed, rod stewart,j.geilsband) im going to get sleepy. while listening to sam kinison, i find it impossible to get sleepy, as that material never gets old, and its impossible to drift off to sleep while your laughing. if im in town, i dont even want to radio on, its too distracting and id rather be aware of my surrondings vs listening to music. i do occasionally like rush limbaugh, its pretty good entertainment if you dont take it too seriously.
