tell that to kids in NY , the purposely fail you the first time , because they feel that no matter how long you have been driving with your permit , you do not have enough experience the first time , and it takes almost a month to get another appointment. Everyone in my graduating class got it after their second try , except me , it took me 3.

Dunno about that one. The local state employee is knows as a psyco that fails everyone the first time, but only if they have less than six months experience on their permit. Most of my friends got their permit and signed up for the drivers test a week later. They all were failed, even though they drove correctly. She would scrutinize their driving just to find flaws, instead of marking down obvious things. One guy even got improper shifting in an automatic.

Me, I got my permit around September 28th 2007, bought my truck on October 10th or 11th, signed up for TRS in November (ha), and took my driving test in June of 2008. I passed with only a few points off, for too many turns in the 3 point and for driving up the center of an unmarked street. She brushed off the fact that when I did my parallel park I was a foot and a half from the curb, and I would have drove over it if there wasn't a driveway there. She was less scrutinizing to me because I had my permit for a long time.

Anyway, to the OP, take your tailgate off. It's easier to see where your backing up. It's what I did and it helped a lot. Oh, and CLEAN your truck. Inside and out, a good appearance helps their demeanor. Most people are more lenient when there's snow. My friend Chris took his test in a fullsize chevy after a snowstorm, he slid all over hell. The person who was driving with him ignored it based on the weather. Just make sure you have good control.

And for anyone else that is taking their drivers test any time soon... DO NOT start the vehicle until both people's seatbelts are on... I know someone who got failed for that right away.

Even now, whenever somebody rides with me, I don't put the truck in gear until eveybody's belted. It's not my driving I don't trust, it's everybody else's

My girlfriends mother is very iffy about her riding with me, dunno why. I mean sure I've been in a couple accidents but only one of them was my fault and that's because my cap blocked my view.

She always tells her to buckle up and I tell her everytime that EVERYONE in my car wears a seatbelt, regardless of age. Or location in the vehicle. I might not notice right away but I do by the time I get to the end of the street.

Geeeze, are YOU in trouble...

One thing fersure, don't let the examiner get into your car while there's a open beer in the cup holder..., no joint in the ashtray, no junk food wrappers on the dash or trash on the floor and what ever you do... don't answer your cell while parallel parking but from what I've seen that don't teach parallel parking anymore...

They don't teach turn signal...

you can do that in NY too , there is Chili , Boston , Greece , Mexico , Egypt , and a few others i cant remember

Norwich and Oxford NY are also cities in England I believe. No England, NY though.
