Does anybody know off hand if a front drive shaft from a gen I explorer will bolt up to a gen II ranger?

Yes, they both have the D35.

Depends which transmission the Ranger has.

If it's the same as the 'sploder AND the Ranger has a 13-54 transfer case, then yes, it will bolt.

Shouldn't matter on the transmission, 88+ they should all be the same length, only the transfercase matters. Since all sploders are 1354s and your rig has a 1354 it will work.

So what you're sayin is that as long the ranger has a 1354 (same as exloder) and D35 it'll bolt in? I've got a 94 manual 4.0. Every explorer in the local wrecking yard is manual and ther are no 4x4 rangers lol.

The only requirement here is that everything is still stock.
Any '91-'94 Explorer front driveshaft will fit any '91-'97 Ranger and vice-versa (any '90 model RBVs that have the D35 axle are included here as well)
