No time.... I'm going to do it this weekend...

Well, got it all done. Hopefully everything works out. One question I have, can anyone tell me the torque values for the 4 pinion flange bolts?

Not loose.
I've never even torqued a set.
If I don't have my Ford driveshaft socket and my 1/2" impact, I have a special procedure.
As tight as I can get em with a wrench. Then double up with another wrench and tighten as tight as I can. Then I put another 1/4 to 1/2 turn on them by hitting the wrench with a hammer.

Ok. I ended up getting them tight, then torqued them to 40 ft lbs. so, along with some red LocTite, i think it'll be good.... Now, it's
On to the next project. ;-)

^^^You must be talking about the pinion nut, I think his question was about the four bolts holding the driveshaft to the flange. But it looks like he caught that by looking at his last two posts.

@Mbrockman5
Good job.

Sounded to me like he was talking about the 4 drive shaft retaining bolts.

Also, I'll give you $20 if you can show me a good way to use a wrench on a pinion nut.

Yea, my knowledge of the proper terminology sucks.

But on the $20, I've torched a wrench to access recessed bolts/nuts before, I have one in my tool box. Remind me when I get back home in ~ 3 weeks and I'll take a pic.

Yeah I was referring to the driveshaft flange bolts.

I too would like to see a wrench used on a pinion nut...
