Drive shaft interference?

I'm currently installing a 4" Skyjacker lift on my 91 Supercab. I also bought a 1-piece drive shaft to install at the same time.

I read in the tech library that a lift taller than 4" would require moving or notching the cross member that the carrier bearing was mounted to. What do you guys think? Since I'm lifting only 4" inches, will I be OK? Or am I going to have to do something about it.

Thanks for any input.

cross member for carrier bearing does not help frame support if that helps

Take it off. I did 2 years ago, no problems whatsoever.

The carrier bearing cross member has nothing to do with frame rigidity. It only is there for the carrier bearing to anchor to. You have no more carrier bearing when you go to a 1 piece shaft. Ditch the cross member.
