My dream setup is a fleet, not a truck. I can't even begin to think about having just one, that's why I probably won't end up with any.
First gen Ranger:
- reg cab, short/long bed
- 331 Stroker EFI
- Remote Twin-Turbo
- manual 5/6 speed trans
- Slight drop (~3")
- Improved front suspension design (MII, or custom)
- 4-link rear suspension
- 13" cobra front brakes & rear disk
68-72 (bump side) F-100: (built off the one dad has parked)
- Regular Cab, Long Bed
- 4x4
- 390 FE W/ EFI
- Manual Trans W/ OD & granny gear
- 33"-35" Tires
- Later model 4 wheel disk axles (it was good at pulling, but not at stopping)
'60s - Early '70s Ford Muscle car:
- Probably Torino, maybe a Galaxy
- 3.5L Ecoboost w/upgrades (I know, I'm crazy, but the F-150 is heavier and it would be a cruiser/DD not a racer)
- 4 wheel disk brakes (seeing a trend here?)
- Suspension Upgrades
Custom Buggy:
- Dune Buggy Style W/ A-arms instead of torsion bar
- 2/4 seater
- mid or rear mounted 2.8L V6 (they actually make a VW transaxle adapter for it)
- 31-33" tires for offroad & much smaller street tires
- GPS Speedometer (doesn't care about tire size)
The only one remotely in work now is the Ranger, the rest are just ideas in my notebook. Right now I'd be happy to just get it running with the 302, auto, 3" drop and upgraded brakes, the rest can come well down the road. Next build will be a shop to work on the next vehicle build in. That one will be either the F-100 that need to find a new for, or the buggy since I have a fresh rebuilt 2.8L sitting in a Ranger I totaled (but I gotta learn to weld first).
