Dream come true.......almost

Finally got my dream truck, 03 FX4 Level II. To bad I cant enjoy for another 3 months, thanks Iraq, but man when I get home its gonna be on! Ever since my mom bought a brand new Ranger back in 96 I have wanted one. Then my brother got a 95 4x4 and I was completely hooked on getting a 4x4. Then I saw the FX4 Level II's and that was the ultimate truck for me. It only took being deployed to get one. And 4 months of convincing the wife that they are very reliable and scouring the internet for that perfect deal.

Now starts the process of figuring out what the next step is. Im going to be using this truck for work and lots of play up in the mountains. So what Im thinking is the 3" Superlift suspension lift with 33"s. AEM Bruteforce intake, JBA headers and exhaust. What are y'alls thoughts?

Is it an auto or manual?

I would suggest getting deeper gears, and some off road lighting.
How hardcore are you into wheeling?

Superlift's kit is 4", (and run $1500 or so) you could fit 33's without rubbing with a cheap body lift.

Stick with the stock intake, it's cold air already, the only power you'll gain is from a lighter wallet

JBA headers may be a good choice, although, I doubt you'll much of an improvment. Keep the stock exhaust, it's not robbing power, if you want it to sound good, replace the muffler with something else.



Spend you money on more important things, preferably things with boobs.

Its an auto and the muffler will probably do for now, Thanks for the suggestion.

I dont have much experience off-roading in civilian vics......but in a Humvee, 7-ton, or an LVS i have that down pat. If i could ever find a mil-spec Humvee for sale that would be an amazing trail truck.

nice truck man! store away the shell till you need it, makes the truck look ugly (dont get rid of it nice for camping!) and put the tires that on that came on that truck, some BFG AT KOs (they came w/ 31X10.5, id go with a 32 or 33 though! makes the LII look great! i want ur wheels so bad!

wife wants to get rid of the shell but i want to keep it for the camping reason....we shall see who wins, hehe.

and you might get a shot at those rims, im planning on putting new wheels and tires on sometime after i get back. I want the BFG AT's to go back on it cause i agree, they made that truck look great.

Take her camping and sleep in the back, but make her setup/sleep in a tent. Then she'll let you keep it.
