I need to park the truck in the garage to do my monthly check on bolts. My room mate owns a 2012 Polaris 500. He's mad cuz I yelled at his girlfriend and made her leave. So he parked it in the garage and took the key. Ussualley he leaves it so I can move it. I've told him I need the garage and I will forcefully move the wheeler if need be. He just said good luck. Will it hurt it if I drag it across the gravel with my truck? Its an auto and I'm unsure if it can be taken out of park without the key.

And no he won't call the cops. They'll just be a fist fight in the front yard. Then well be buds again. This happens every few months.

If it's a 2wd or a 4x4 in 2wd, and you can pick up the rear a bit then you should be able to drag it no problem. See if you can put it in N w/o the key.

Try looking them up...many vehicles, cars especially, have an override for the transmission...not sure about a wheeler but it would make sense that it would have something like that...

My zuki had a hidden panel that when opened revealed a key-like lock that you had to turn to release the transmission...worth a shot!

EDIT: I just looked...apparently not...but you may be able to remove the access panel and slip the linkage off and move it to neutral...other than that...drag on, brother, dragon...

You don't need the key to get it out of park, I don't even think the transmission has a park, its usually just the brake handle that has a clip on it to hold it down thus making it act as a parking brake. However, you could just drag it wherever you want out of your way, it won't hurt it, there's no park in the transmission it may drag the tires, but hey if its your property and some genius parks their crap in your way on your property you have every right to move their stuff especially if you told them prior to not park their stuff in your garage. Hell I'd drag the thing across town and drop it somewhere.

Most of those autos that I can think of are a variable belt trans. So without the motor running I don't think the belt even grabs anything. You can move it no problem. Same thing even if its a manual with no clutch. It just uses a centrifical clutch that won't grab. If it does have a clutch just put it in neutral, you don't need the key. Just make sure the parking brake clip is off. You can duke it out with him later but you don't want to duke it out and be responsible for replacing a couple of parts as well.

Your right there is no park. And I can put it in neutral without the key. Maybe ill push it into the deepest corner of the garage and then pack shit on top of it from that corner then pull my truck in there and take the wheels off. He needs it this weekend. If he wants to play games I can play too

That's what I would do, move it into a corner and pack stuff around it, he was warned to keep his crap out of the way. Except I wouldn't be that nice I've had too many people screw me over so I'd haul the thing across town and dump it off somewhere. If he's living at someone's place cuz he can't afford his own place why does he have an ATV? That's not very high on a I don't have a place to stay priority list.

I would push it into that back wall with my rear bumper but that's just me.....

We both used to work together and decided to get a place together. He used to be a great room mate till he met this girl that's 17 he's 23. Now he doesn't do anything and is always ****in up.

Drag it out onto the front lawn, put a sign on it that says 'lost key, won't start, just take it - FREE!" and wait :) then play dumb.

Too much hate in this world as it is. You too need to settle your differences and be friends again.

Wow he don't have any brains, where I live that's a case of statutory rape underage girl and an adult male, that's a jail sentence waiting to happen.

Anyhow just shove it out of your way preferably outside if you leave it in the shop it will inevitably be in your way.

But you really don't need the key, just make sure its in neutral as its easier to move that way, and just roll it wherever you can without it getting in your way.

Yeah he can be an idiot. He also lets her tell him what to do.

This bring back memories for anyone of the old "roommate from hell" saga?
