Drag Truck - The Danger Ranger

Hey friends, quick update. Trailer still hasn't been found. Over the MLK weekend coming up, I'm going to start stripping the truck to prep it for a local rod shop to do a full cage and front end build. Once it is back in the garage, the turbo build will finally start! Spent quite a few weekends trying to chase down why that cam sensor wasn't reporting and was never able to resolve it. Won't matter once it has a turbo cam and lockouts =D

Hey everyone! New video is up. Day 1 of making this thing TURBOCHARGED. Removed the wiring harness and pulled the drivetrain to prep for it getting a cage installed and the front end redone. I have 9 weeks left of grad school so this won't be a quick phase of the project, but I will be posting updates as the build continues. If you haven't, please consider subscribing to my channel to help it grow.

Just a quick update video. Roll cage has been ordered from S&W and will be here in about 3 weeks. This week I'm ordering the front suspension so hopefully it'll be here by the time the cage shows up. This video is just prepping the truck to take to the local rod shop for the cage and front end install.

Mustang II front suspension and crossmember are on order and will be here first week of April (DANG YOU BACKORDERS!).

Hey everyone! New video will be up in the next day or so, but looking for some feedback in the meantime. Currently working on rear suspension and need to set the ride height so I can weld in the new 4 link. Front currently has no engine or trans, so it'll droop about an inch or two to bring the body level. Any thoughts? I think it'll look awesome at this ride height. First pic is with the rear lowered, second is how it sat previously.

Level or lowered. 4 link set up to raise the rear body when accelerating.

New video is up! Cage is on hold while suspension is redone at the recommendation of the speed shop. I wanted to get the cage and turbo in to see how far we could go with the leaf springs, but I appreciate their advice and am doing the suspension first.

Finally replaced the trailer I had stolen last year. Very excited for my new transport! 4 link is coming along slowly and video should be up within a few weeks.

Only 6 months and a week later, the rear is finally (almost) done. Have about 30 minutes left of welding and reinstalling the coilovers, as well as the bed. Very excited to be past this hurdle and onto the next one. Up next is fully redoing the firewall forward.

So I went through this end to end.

And wish I had caught it on day one. Definitely could have saved some pain.

Definitely interested in the 6r80 mods.

The final converter with the turbo. And the issue with the cam sensor

No worries and thanks for tuning in! Converter is a 3B from Circle D. Planning on doing clutches and a billet intermediate shaft in the trans. Those two should hold all the power we are gonna throw at it! As far as the cam sensor goes, I still have not found a solution to it. It doesn't seem to be affecting performance, and I think I've settled on my launch RPM issue being the converter being too tight for the HP. I only wanted to buy 1 converter so I purchased the one that will be perfect for my turbo goals!

The rear is finally done! You can skip to the 5:30 mark if you just want to see how it looks and see the comparison to how it used to sit. Time to tear apart the front end and drop it too!

You should have left the original k member Intact and tied the link bar mounts with the box tubes into it.

And turn the bolts around....roll don't cut the frame.

I don't understand what you are trying to say about the k-member

Spent the afternoon chopping the front off. Video and pics below. Please consider letting the video run (even if you don't want to watch) to help it get more views for the Algorithm.

Here are all the parts. Paul Horton's Welder Series K-member, and a Speedway Motors Mustang II IFS kit

Set on jackstands at the ride height I am targeting. I think it looks awesome!

Here's how low the old rotors are to the ground (with no weight, of course) at the new ride height.

A beautiful blank canvas to work with. It will be 2x4 channel up to the cross member, then tubular forward. Not sure how much weight I'm going to save or gain, but I'm freeing up a lot of space that I didn't otherwise have for the turbo.

Not my normal ranger content, but I did something bad and bought a Chevy. Needed something better for towing and this LBZ came across my lap and I had to get it.
