I once read that a good tuned leaf spring will outrun a badly setup 3 or 4 link. So my question is, with a 351 C setup, in a street ruck, I will want it low, what to use for leafs, or how to set up the leafs to hold onto around 450 rwhp. If no one thinks leafs will do it, how do you even begine setting up a 4 link? This will be an '01 ranger sinle cab short bed 3.0 auto donor....

weld your spring perches on the bottom of the axle, mount the axle on top of the leafs, and go. spring-under has less axle wrap than a spring over, and it will get you quite a bit of drop.

I don't really know, but I'd try 'CalTracs' or make some.
Many moons ago I street raced and used slapper bars, they didn't work till I extended them out so the rubber bumper hit the spring eye instead of the spring. This was in a '68 Torino with a stock 429 out of a Merc. Marquis. I never took it to the track but was doing 105 mph at the end of the 1/4, with bias ply tires. Figured it out to mid 13's.

Ok, have yet another question. I may turn the direction of this build. My buddy is going to turn his truck 4x4 (85 chev). What would it take to turn an 01 into a 4x4 doing an sas, never seen a newer one done...
