Anybody running a 1350/54 doubler behind an auto trans?

I'm curious i know evan, 4x4junkie, Todd are running them behind manuals and i run one behind a manaul. But my newest rig is an automatic and i am curious as to how the auto acts at that low of a crawl. With the manual and in double low 1st gear the motor temp would get warm. I am worried of the trans getting hot at such a low speed?

Any thoughts?

i was thinking about this too. In theory it seem like it would work but with limited gear selection. At the least I think you would need a beefed up auto like you said the heat might be a factor.

Big fawking tranny cooler...... And an electric fan that will be tied into the tranny temp sensor aswell as the coolant temp so that it will turn on when either one needs cooling.

59Bisquik on B2.org is running a stubler behind his (2nd or 3rd) A4LD...

I know that advanced adapters says something to the fact that they don’t recommend their 5:1 atlases behind autos due to the braking. When you want to stop the thing you might have to put it in neutral when in double low.

I believe Wanderer on RRORC is/was running the doubler on his explorer with an A4LD and he said the same thing. The crawl ratio will overcome the brakes no matter how hard you push them.

From what I understand, you want a crawl ratio around 70:1 with an automatic.

with 5.13s in the axles, you're at 78:1 which I think should still be fine.

59BQ also hasn't had any issues with stopping (he never mentioned anything about it to me anyway).
