Hey all,
So I’ve got my front drive shaft out of my 4x4 1989 and there is a double Cardan in the back end of it at the transfer case.
I have taken out one of the u joints in the double Cardan, and have been expecting to be able to restore it with new ball and bearing and spring and such, just like the article here in this forum shows..
However, my little ball yoke thing doesn’t seem to be the kind you can actually remove the bearing and ball from. It sure looks to me like this is just one solid piece.
But that’s not possible right? There has to be a way that they got the ball and bearing in.
Maybe my surface is just rusted over and it appears to be seamless?
Having trouble making a plan for this, so if anybody has any experience with them please let me know if you have any pointers !
I think the part# is Spicer 2-179 but I could be wrong.
Jeffs Bronco Graveyard sells this, which might be the same thing, or might not be.
