door speaker wires?

ok well i have some new door speakers i want to put in my 94 mazda but when i got the door panels off an went to take the old stock speakers out there have this connector that plugs into the speaker? so how would i wire up my new speakers that only have the little tabs that you put those slide on cconnectors on. an the wires are like green with a trace of yellow an wierd stuff like that can anyone help me figure out what wire is what so when i hook my new speakers up the sounds isnt screwed thanks.

u will have to cut the plugs off the and strip the wire ends down a little bit to get the new connector on it, ur speakers may have come with new speaker connectors, if not u will have to buy some, put ur key in and test the wire ends with a meter to determine the positive or negative and hook it up to the new speaker. according to what it says
 
You can buy a set of these, or at least look at this pic to see which wire is positive and which one is negative.

You can always check the wiring diagram in a haynes or chiltons manual. They will tell you exactly what each colour coded wire is. I used one with my old Mazda and use them with the Exploder, Contour, and F-350. Makes this lots easier. That way you can be fairly sure that you don't get your speakers installed out of phase either.
 
There is really no reason to buy a wire adapter. just cut off connectors, match up + and + , and - and -, Put a butt connector on them, crimp, and you're ready to rock n' roll!
