Bottom of my 2000 pass. door is rusting away from the inside . Is this a common problem and is there a fix. I never see any water.

water and dirt get caught in the pinch weld at the bottom of the door. It is a very common problem, basically you will have to either sand blast or wire wheel the rust away and repaint the fix.

Yeah, once the rust gets in there it's a problem...but if you have the doors oiled regularly with rust stop or something similar it won't happen so fast...or at all...

I had my F-150 fixed at a dealership for $50 a door when it first started bubbling. They spread it out, sandblasted it and sealed it. There is no longer a pinch for stuff to collect, it is all filled in and painted over with sealant.

Watch the tailgate too, it has the same kind of joint along the bottom.

My tailgate weighs about 50lbs more than it should...it's filled with oil sealant...and it doesn't have any rust at all...I'm afraid to tilt it and have all that goop run out onto the floor..
