I have a 97 ranger 2wd that has shaved door handles. The remote door popper isnt wired up yet, but the "hidden button" was wired up, supposedly. I press the button and i can hear the acuator thing in the door move, but not enough to open the door, but thats not my problem right now. My problem is, when i leave the truck overnite, the hidden door popper button is draining the battery. So any idea whats at fault? could it be wired wrong so theres constant power to the switch or just a defective button? I just bought this truck an all this was already done to it so any help would be appreciated seeing as though i am new to all this. Thanks!!

If it's remote, it's more than just a switch, and it requires some power in order to perform its function.

Sounds to me like it's just a badly engineered POS. Though I'd disconnect it to make sure the battery isn't just weak and that there isn't another current drain.

For now i dont have the "box" for the remote door popper, i only have the hidden switch wired up to the drivers side door, so another question would be, can the door openers in the doors (i think there called actuators?) be adjusted so they have more power to open the door? because when i press the hidden button on the truck, i can hear it moving but not enough to open the door, it's opened the door a couple times, but only about twice, and i want to make sure before i start driving it that i wont have to break my own glass to get in my truck cuz the door wont open lol (for now ill run it with just the hidden button, i want to get that work good for now)

Sounds to me like a wiring issue, or maybe a faulty popper. But I really have no clue. Never used one.

yea im gonna have one of my dads friends take a look at it, he wires these up as a side job and should be able to help me
thanks for the input guys
