Does anybody have a good idea for replacing the door panel fabric? My drivers side is rotted out at the top. Should I just remove the rest of it and paint it or what? Thanks.
I know LMC Truck offers replacement door panels for 84 to 88 Rangers and B2s. You might check with them for your 94. You can always search the local junk yards for a better used one. If you can't find your color, there are spray paints available at many parts stores and automotive paint suppliers.
I saw an excellant tutorial on an explorer website on how to replace the fabric. Takes some time to let the glue dry.
Now, to search for some nice fabric.
Might try a upholstery shop, had my arm rest done. They will carry the colors you need.
The shop I go to, you can do it your self right there with their assistance , or you can get it and go home, or they will do it for you.
My fabric is also rotted out around the top, I've been wondering what I can do to make it look nicer. Mine is red/burgandy or whatever its called and I'd probably never find a good matching fabric.
Is the plastic beneath it solid and paintable? Let me know what luck you've had.
The plastic under the cloth has a unfinished look. Recovering with new cloth is a good way to go. A upholstery shop should be able to get you a close matching fabric. If you want exact matching fabric try SMS Auto Fabrics http://www.smsautofabrics.com/
I've bought had to find NOS fabrics from them for my 70s Mustangs. They buy up the NOS fabrics from the auto makers.
