I bought some brand new door lock actuators and was able to get the old ones off the mount that's riveted to the door. Only problem now is that I can't get that metal rod out of the plastic assembly it's attached to, to swap in my new door lock actuators. Any ideas?

Plus I plugged in the cannon plug into my new door lock actuator for the passenger side and it doesn't work. I checked the fuses and tried the switch on both driver's side and passengers side. I'm not a electrician, so my next guess would be wiring. But what are the chances of both driver's and passengers side wiring being bad for the brand new actuator to not work?
