You ain't stuck till you can't move the old girl.
My exterior door handles keep breaking, and I was wondering if anyone had ever come across some metal replacement door handles for a 2001 ranger.

It’s the handle, they either snap off the outside or they snap on the inside.

Why is it braking so often? door freezing shut or something?

The weather where I’m from can hit -40 in the winter for weeks on end. It really isn’t kind to plastic door handles.

If the temp outside is freezing the door closed all around the seal & you pull on the door handle & break it due to force it then dress the seal with something like leather Saddle Soap or Arctic Dubbin to keep the seal free from sticking closed.

I used to live in Edmonton many years ago, know what you're dealing with.

Yeah if your door is freezing shut on the regular then you should keep a small plastic pry bar in the bed of your truck. I have to do that from time to time as well. Normally when they break it is just the little clip inside the door. these are cheap and easy to repair. I got a cheap nylon pry bar set from harbor freight for 4-5 bucks. these wont scratch the paint and are sturdy enough t pry a frozen door open. I've heard pam cooking spray will keep the door seals from freezing shut. never tried it myself.

God's idea. I never thought of that.
