My dinger that lets me know that my keys are still in the ignition when I open the door is very very low (almost too low to hear). Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks.

I would take it as a step forward, so you don't have to listen to that annoying dinger every time...

What ever you have done let me ljow so I can get mine that way!

I took mine out, why would you want that?

b/c i've locked my keys in my car a few times. :/

Well, if you insist... What is going on is your dinger is really old, and probably has a bad ground somewhere or the dinger itself is incapable of making much noise. Chase it down in your dash, take it out, and go to the parts store and find the equivalent. For bonus points, you can get the dinger from a different car if you like the way that vehicle chimes more than your Ranger used to. My Navajos dinger was slowly dying, so I put it out of it's misery.

You can fix it by.................... Unpluging it!

Keep a spare key in your wallet or in a hideaway magnetic box.

What does it look like?

Can't remember... Just open the door with the key in the ignition, and listen for where it is, and remove whatever panel its behind. I think its to the left of the steering column? Remember though - I have a Mazda, which has a slightly different interior.
