Was wondering why some trucks ding when you have the key on the run position when you're about to startt and some don't? Is it just a relay or is it a completely different dinger under the dash? When I have the drivers door open it dings but not when I turn the key to run. 1990 ford ranger 5 speed

There is a door open/key left in ignition chime and a seat belt not fasten chime.

Most door open/key left in ignition only chime when key is in OFF position but still inserted, a reminder not to lock yourself out.
No reason it couldn't be setup to chime anytime key is in ignition in any position and door is open, could just be factory choice.

Seat belt chime will only be on if key is in RUN or START position, a reminder to buckle up :)
That's assuming a seat's weight detector is working

Would you know how to activate that or is it the seat weight sensor? Curious because I like the chime on trucks when you start the truck up. Is that sensor the one that plugs into the plug on the floor?
