hey,
my door chime wont turn off, i have searched and found that it is possible to cut a wire in the steering coloum which will still leave the headlight chime on. my question is, which wire is it on my 95 2.3l extened cab ranger? please any help will be appriciated, i cant take it anymore anymore all the beeping!!

thanks.

take apart the column, then u will see the ignition starter, were u put the key right? well, then u will see a cable with a plastic cover inserted on top of the starter, unplug it and problem solved, u still have the lights chime , but no door chime anymore
let me know if that worked :)

will do,i just took apart my doors. one of the censors in my driver door was broken off. theres 2 on it and the upper one was broken off, the censore with a little ball in it, that goes in n out. i cant figure out how it goes back in.but i tried pushing on the ball with the doors closed and it still didnt work.

im going to just ditch all the door work and just cut the coloum wire.

what if i go behind the headunit in the dash and unplug the actual beeper?? ive seen it before when i installed a new headunit, theres about 3 or 4 plugs going into it.

yeah u can do that too, unplug the beeper, but the lights warning wont work

might just do that, why is there so many wires and plugs goin into it?(beeper)

well, last time i checked that, u just need to pull the plug, and thats it, i believe the amount of wires is because it needs volt source, ground, a cable for seat belt warning(i believe) driver door signal, lights signal, key signal, and its a ford, it always has more wires lol!!

oh yeah forgot bout all that stuff lol gonna just unplug the beeper

it should be a green wire and its only a sinlge wire going into the tumbler. well maybe not ford never seemed to use the same colors from year to year but its the only wire that goes into it.

unplugged the plugg going into it. awsome, everyone do it haha it nice driving in silence instead of the door chime beeping hahahaaha no noises wat so ever cept the radio goin hahahaa
