why does my door ajar light stays on in my 99 ranger??

cause the switch in it sticks. blast it with pb blaster or liquid wrench. will go away for a while.

the switch that is mentioned is inside the door near the door latch. If you want to replace the switch, they cost about $10. Spray lubing the hell out of them works for a short while, after which you can spray them again.

does replacing it really help? i have the same problem in my '03.

MY 2000 with 4 door does this to. Must be one of them "better ideas" from ford. I bought new switch but what door to put it in ?

ahhh! thank you, i was wondering why my light stayed on, and my dome light stayed on. but couldent find the switch. Ill try spraying it and let you know how it works out.
