Door Adjustment

The passenger side door on my extended cab needs to be adjusted and I don't know how. The top of the door at about ear height sticks out just far enough that the rubber seal is allowing noise to come in. If I push on the door from the outside it seals up OK. I don't see an adjustment bumper on the bottom that would allow for pressing the top in when closed.

Any tips on adjusting this?

Oddly enough, the doors are the one section of the body that has yet to sustain damage. Has anyone done a how-to for adjusting the hinges?

Unless you have some really skinny sockets/wrenches I think the only way to align the hinges is to remove the front fenders, adjust the doors and reinstall the fenders and align them with the cab.

I have the issue of hard closing doors on my '88 and have yet to find the time to tear apart the front to do this.

If anyone kows an easier way, I too would like to know the secret.

Good luck

Rich

Loosen the 3 upper bolts and leave the very bottom one tight. Loosen them to were they are still somewhat snug. Close the door and push on it at the top. The door should align for you and get rid of the annoying wind noise. Tighten up the bolts and try that.
