Dome light on a 2001 regular cab question

Sorry about yet another dome light question, but I've looked through pages and haven't seem my question addressed. Anyway, I bought a new dome light a few months back and today it's in the 60s (finally) and I wanted to do something with the Ranger, so putting in the dome light was quick and easy. Or so I thought. The replacement light has a long tab on the back of the housing and it won't fit in the opening. I'm wondering (after looking at all of those threads) if I have a dome light for an extended cab and those have a different opening in the metal. (The truck had NO dome light when I bought it a few months ago). It's a later 2001 as it has the 2.3 Duratec.

TL;DR -I'm wondering if I have the wrong dome light for my later 2001 regular cab.

Top picture is the light and shows the long tab at the bottom left. This is the part that doesn't seem to fit in the hole (second picture). Any clarity on what to order would be appreciated. IF I ever get the correct light, I'll be selling the incorrect one cheap. -thanks.

I’m not sure if the regular cabs use a different light or not, but darn if that hole doesn’t look like it’s for one of the rectangular lights that I’m used to seeing in older vehicles.

That light you have does look like the standard ones for extended cabs though. Just not sure if it was used in regular cabs or not because the only regular cab Ranger I own is an 89 parts truck, lol. Everything else is extended cabs.

Here is a picture of an extra one that I have for my 96 Ranger. I think I pulled it off of a 2001.The part number is F67B-13776-AA.

Yep. Looks like they sent me the wrong light. Problem is, every light I look at to buy seems to show the same thing as they already sent me. I might go to the local yard and see if they have something. Just hope it's not shite and cost $$$.
Appreciate the responses and like I said, the wrong one they sent me will be for sale soon.
