Dome light flashes

2007 XL 4x4
The other day when I got to work & parked, the dome light started flashing. Random like, and there was clicking coming from the SJB (passenger kick panel)
I pulled the fuse (only works the light & horn). I noticed that is was marked with Sharpie so evidently, the previous owner had issues with it too.
Waited a day and put the fuse back. Get to work... same thing. Hmmmm

Thoughts?

The door switch for the dome light is a known issue on the Rangers, it is on the latch mechanism now, not a push button type in the door jam.

Spray some lube in the latch mechanism and open and close door a few types

You will need to repeat the lubing once a year

I'll give that a shot. We had a similar problem with our Windstar a few years ago. Living on a dirt road doesn't help I suppose.
