does it look worth checking out?

http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/1681290762.html

The things that are turning me off are the fact that it has 60k miles and that it needs shackles/hangers. This just screams "sat for years" to me but who knows. Anybody down that way wanna check it out for me? Its wayyy down in southern Mass. thanks

I'd buy it after checking it. That's easy shit to replace.

looks like a good deal, shackles are easy to replace....did anyone else notice he had 3 of the same pics?

Its not so much that im concerned with, its what does the frame look like. If those are rusting out i can imagine the frames not too pretty

Shackles and hangers are fairly easy to replace. they certainly not worth 400 parts and 400 labor.

I would go eye ball it and check out the frame and whatnot.

All four spring hangers for my '96 were $82 shipped to me from RockAuto. Got the shackles for free from the junkyard.

I'd buy it but offer less.

I know the hangers and stuff are easy to do. I guess my question is more if the hangers rusted out what are the odds that the frame isnt pretty much rusted out too. I dont know how easily the hangers go on this year truck.

Just have to check it out I guess. Mine is really pretty rust free, with the exception of the core support and the spring hangers. The frame is rock solid. It looks like the hangers were powder coated and the frame was not, and water/salt got between the steel and powder coating. If they hadn't been coated I have no doubt that I wouldn't have to replace them.

Sure looks like worth checking out with those few miles. I've seen a lot of postings of the rear shackles all gone but the frames good. Others really had an attack of the rust worms. Ford must have gotten a bad batch of steel or something.

My 02 had shackles replaced. They fall apart, always have on Rangers. That doesn't mean the frame is bad.

I'd definitely check that out...and 60k isn't much at all.

yea i guess im just a little uneasy with the low mileage.
The last low mileage one i looked at (74,000 on a '99) the frame was in real bad shape, The guy hasnt emailed me back so someone probably scooped it up already. oh well.
