Does everbodys ranger require

so much shifting ,I can hardly get moving and my truck winds up ready to be shift ,same goes for 2nd and alittle in 3rd.Is this normal:fie:
 
What is your definition of "winds up"? The 3.0 likes to be shifted around 3500 - 4000 rpm. What gears are in the axles? What size tires?
